The Management Associate (MA) Program is tailored to develop you as a high-potential individual for leadership roles in the areas of corporate banking, commercial banking, transaction services (cash, trade and securities), sales and trading, risk management, finance, operations, and technology within our Institutional Clients Group (ICG). Upon entering the Program, you will not only acquire advanced financial and technical knowledge, but also the leadership and interpersonal skills that enable you to maximize your potential early and to define your own career.

The MA Program of Citibank Korea Inc. is 12 months long and is structured on a rotational basis, which gives you exposure to multiple business areas. By giving you insight into the different business areas, it will give you an opportunity not only to see how those areas work, but to develop your people and relationship skills in order to build a network of contacts – which will be very useful as you move through the organization.

At the end of the Program you will be assigned to one business. Assignments are based on a combination of your personal preferences and business needs. We appreciate that earlier in your career it is harder to pin point where you want to work. The structure of the rotations means you will have the opportunity to explore different areas before making your final decision.

The business areas that you may rotate in are:
§ Corporate Banking
§ Commercial Banking
§ Global Transaction Services
§ Finance
§ Treasury / Sales & Trading
§ Risk Management
§ Operations

We also pride ourselves in the quality of training we offer to young graduates like yourself as well as employees across all levels. Apart from on-the-job training, all MAs attend a 7-week regional developmental program (MAGIC) that takes place in Shanghai or Manila. The program offers a comprehensive foundation of institutional banking products through a combination of classroom lectures, group projects and presentations. You will also be given plenty of opportunities to participate in a wide array of internal and external training programs throughout your career with us.

The MA Program is demanding and your learning curve will be steep. However, you will not be bored and will constantly be faced with new challenges. You will be in continuous contact with different businesses, and offices in the region or around the world. Throughout your career, you may also have the opportunity to work in diverse businesses or locations locally, regionally or internationally.

You are embarking on your career at a time when Asia Pacific is undergoing historic changes and growing in influence. Join the MA Program to apply what you have learnt and contribute to the dynamic financial services sector.

You must have superior academic performance and first class analytical skills. But it’s just as important that you have the confidence and credibility to build relationships with clients, and possess excellent communication skills.
